I love baseball more than any other sport, but I have to admit that I am glad that the season is finally over now.
We had a very long, hot summer here and it was miserable for part of the season.
The heat and humidity here was unprecedented for part of the time. When you are sitting out in the burning hot sun for hours at a time, you start wishing that you were back at home in the air conditioning before too long. That’s exactly what happened to me many times throughout the summer. I seemed to get overheated a lot more this summer than I ever have before. It was pretty rough to be out there watching my son pitch while I was dreaming about being back at home in the nice cool air conditioning by the TV. Usually, I’m really sad whenever the baseball season is over and done with but that wasn’t the case for me this year. The weather still has not started cooling down yet and summer is over. I guess this heat wave that we have been having is just going to stick around forever. At least now, I don’t have to go out to the hot baseball field anymore this year. Sometimes I wish that baseball was an indoor sport, just so that we could go and enjoy a game in the comfort of the air conditioning at an indoor sports complex. There certainly aren’t too many of those around and there definitely aren’t any of them around here where we live.
