I hailed a cab on Sunday morning

I was supposed to meet my girlfriend on Sunday morning and I woke up late.

  • It was too late to call an uber.

It would have taken at least a half an hour. I took a shower and got dressed. I had a couple of eggs and a piece of toast. I went downstairs and hailed a cab. It was warm outside and the Sun was shining brightly. I could tell that it was going to be a nice day. The weather was warm and there weren’t very many clouds in the sky. I stepped into the cab and the driver said good morning. I responded with a good morning back to the driver. As we rolled away from the apartment building, I asked the driver to turn on the air conditioner. The cab driver informed me that his air conditioner was not working. He offered to drop me off and cancel the fair if I was unhappy. I was already running late, so I decided to stay in the cab. I had to ride 17 blocks in the backseat of the cab and it felt like it was easily 100° inside of the back seat. I was starting to sweat halfway through the ride. I asked the driver if he could open up a window. He opened a back window, but it only went down halfway and it really wasn’t enough to give me a cool breeze. It just made the interior temperatures in the car even warmer. By the time I arrived to meet my girlfriend, I was hot, sweaty, and miserable. Thank goodness we were meeting somewhere indoors. I did not want to spend any more of the morning outside in the heat.
