My hubby Zed plus I were looking for a new HVAC system.
Zed had been looking into geothermal HVAC, but I was sure geothermal was just for new homes.
Zed told me it would be straight-forward to install geothermal HVAC into our home. Zed and I lived near a lake plus had plenty of places to install the pipes… Our house had enough clearance to get the pipes into the house. I asked if Zed and I would need to install HVAC duct into the house. When he said that was a minor pitfall, I wasn’t sure geothermal was a cost Zed and I could afford to incur. I understood geothermal HVAC used the ambient heat of the world itself to heat plus cool the house, however the installation plus device were going to be high-priced. Zed and I would then have the cost of the new HVAC duct, plus Zed and I had little clearance in our basement. Zed and I would also need to open up walls for the HVAC duct, plus place HVAC ducts in the attic rooms. Zed and I knew my pal and I would need to do more research into geothermal plus all the costs that went with it. While I was cooking supper, Zed was on the iPhone with a friend of his. Joe was an HVAC contractor, plus he wanted to come to the house plus look at everything to give us some ideas. He said that he didn’t guess geothermal would be a wise idea for us. The initial costs would be prohibitive for us. He then recommended my pal and I try using a mini split HVAC system. He said it diagnosed the same premise as the geothermal model, however it used the ambient heat in the air instead of in the ground. The mini split was also heated plus cooled, plus the cost was half as much as geothermal.
