There’s a cold spot in my house

Ever since we started running our central air conditioning system this year, I have been noticing that there is a major cold spot in the corner of our living room.

There wasn’t one there last year, and so that just really makes me think that there is some kind of issue going on with my heating and cooling system.

Of course, I’m no HVAC professional, so I don’t really have a clue what could possibly be going on with the whole cold spot situation. I do know that it’s an issue, though. The air conditioning vent in the living room is right above the couch where my family watches TV together every night. Unfortunately for us, it’s so dang cold in there that we haven’t even been able to sit there together without freezing. And please note that this is even when I have the air conditioning turned down on the thermostat and it’s not even running! We just somehow end up with this freezing cold spot right in the middle of our living room. I am starting to wonder if we don’t need to get some ductwork sealing done or something. I know that if your air ducts get cracks or gaps in them, that can sometimes cause hot or cold spots throughout your home. I think that I will call our local heating and cooling company tomorrow to see what they say. I guess we are going to have to do something about it or we may never get to watch a movie together again in our living room!
