We didn’t get paid the day we completed the service

Last week we helped a customer with an A/C service and we didn’t get paid the day that we completed the service.

The customer wanted to write a check for the services, however we told him that we would rather send him a bill. We contacted the customer by phone many times after we sent out the invoice. We never heard anything from him. We knew he had to get the information, because we sent it right to the address where we performed the services. We called the owner many times to settle the bill and after that we decided to show up at his apartment unannounced. You can guess that he was truly surprised to see us in the driveway. The customer was entertaining some friends at the time. We were not attempting to make a scene, so we told him that we wanted to talk to him about some corporation that we had. He asked us to give him a moment. Our customer said he would meet us outside in our truck. We went out to the truck and he never came outside. A police officer came to the address about half an hour later and told us that we had to leave. The owner of the apartment complained that we were sitting outside and stocking him. He complained that we were being aggressive and trying to hound him for money. The officer told us that it was best to leave the property and take it up with a small claims court
