A cold shower helps when there is no A/C

My boyfriend and I had to go without any AC for 24 hours last summer.

We came home from vacation on a Saturday night.

It was late in the evening and the sun had already set. That’s when we found our apartment warm, humid, and muggy. I called the apartment manager and left a message for the maintenance staff. They didn’t call back until Sunday morning. Since it was already dark outside, the nighttime temperatures were not too bad. When Sunday morning rolled around, the heat and humidity became relentless. The apartment manager and maintenance staff did not arrive until late on Sunday afternoon. My boyfriend and I were stuck in the apartment with all of the Heat. We had a lot of things to do before going back to work on Monday. We had to unpack our suitcases and do three or four loads of laundry. We didn’t want to do any chores without AC. My boyfriend kept getting in and out of the shower to cool down. He told me to take a cold shower as well, but I could not bear the tiny drops of frozen water. Even though it was 90 degrees in the house, the cold water still felt like shards of ice. My boyfriend and I were very happy to hear that the AC problem was minor. After going without any AC for the past 24 hours, we were happy to hear some good news. The maintenance staff fixed all of the issues and my boyfriend and I settled into bed Sunday night with cool temperatures inside of our apartment.
