I work in a small heating and a/c store that our parents started 20 years ago. It is a cute little mom and pop shop and even though it is small, they try to include as much variety in their products as possible. Both of us have more than 2 loyal clients and regulars that I see each week and I am always glad to see them, however just the other day, however, was not such a glad day. I had nothing much to do, we were open but there was nobody in the store! So with nothing else to do I went into the security room and just started enjoying the security cameras. Nothing. Just blank screens. About ten minutes passed and then we heard the bell chime go off as the store door was opened. A guy in a dark hoodie walked in. My coworker that was at the currency register said hello and the guy walked right past her without looking up or responding. I watched as he made his way into the section with all of the portable cooling systems. Before either 1 could react he grabbed a window a/c unit, stuffed it in his blazer and ran for the door. My coworker was faster and closer than myself and others and she tackled him. I ran out to help her and together we stopped the would-be a/c thief. Both of us called the police and I explained to our mom and dad what happened. After that, we added some extra security to the store, even though the guy was taken by the police, we didn’t want to risk any more similar incidents.
