All She Needed Was a Little Window Air Conditioner

Three years ago, my daughter decided to move away from her hometown.

She told me she did not want to be one of those girls who was born and raised in the same place and never went to live anywhere other than her hometown.

I kind of understand that despite the fact that I would miss her terribly. And I do miss her terribly, trust me. But all of that is irrelevant. She is now quite happy living about 5 hours south of me. It never gets cold down there like it does here. She told me she has never had to use her heater at all. And one time when she was coming up to visit, she and her boyfriend started keeping track of the thermostat reading they drove 5 hours North. So, anyway, she is quite a beach girl and she does seem to be a bit happier being very close to the beach and living where there is no need for a furnace. Nonetheless, she has discovered that not only is it warm down there, it is downright hot and humid all year long. He bought a typical 1950s bungalow oh, and it is truly adorable. However, one of the things that is wrong with that little Bungalow is that the air conditioning system really just cannot keep up with the constant heat outside. It is just so hot all the time that just about all air conditioning systems struggle to keep up with whatever the thermostat setting is. She discovered that she could not even sleep at night very well because it was just too hot in the house. She likes to set the thermostat quite low and then snuggle under a couple of blankets in order to sleep well. Unfortunately, RAC just wasn’t strong enough. She asked me for advice, and I advised her to get a mini split air conditioning unit. She liked the idea of it, but really wanted to spend the absolute minimum she could spend. That’s how she ended up with just a small window AC unit that she put in her bedroom window all by herself. All she needed was a little window AC unit and life became perfect.
