First time cooking

My first time ever cooking a real meal was an anxious one.

I had cooked many smaller meals before this but this time I was exceptionally nervous, I had offered to fix thanksgiving dinner.

I was told repeatedly that I would do fine and that all my prior meals had been delicious. So when the time came to start cooking I wasted no time in getting the food prepared. I started with the mac and cheese. After pouring it into a pot I began to cook it over the stove. The turkey was already in the oven, now just to fix everything else. Standing over a stove was starting to make me hot. I left the pot temporarily to head to the thermostat. I was going to turn the air conditioning on. I heard it come on before heading back to the stove. But only after a few moments the heat returned. I felt like I was inside a heater! Going back to the thermostat once more I could feel the cool air coming out from the a/c vent above me but I couldn’t feel it in the kitchen. So I turned the air conditioner up even higher and then once more headed to the kitchen. It was a little better, I continued stirring the mac and cheese pot, and once I had finished all the cooking. A big buffet of turkey, mac and cheese, corn, rolls, pie, and much more was laid out in front of me. I was exhausted but it came out excellent. I hadn’t burned anything. I invited everyone over for dinner before I crashed underneath the a/c vent. The air conditioning system felt like a blessing as the cool air touched my skin and caused all the heat to leave my body.
