Giving a customer quality service

When a new customer came into my Heating & A/C business recently, they told me that they were looking for a quality Heating & A/C… Well, I told them about all kinds of fancy systems we had in stock.

  • I covered all kinds of HVAC options, including radiant heated floors, ductless Heating & A/C systems, radiant cooling, and geothermal Heating & A/C.

After I rambled a little too long, it was too much for the customer to consider. They seemed as though they didn’t have the time or interest to talk in this much detail about heating and cooling options. In their mind, it was all just a giant headache. They brushed off most of what I said and responded by saying that they wanted the typical in a central Heating & A/C system. They didn’t need anything fancy. They didn’t even need new ductwork. I figured that while they may not know it, they probably would benefit from sealing and cleaning their ductwork, at the very least. The guy I was speaking to was very direct, so I cut the chit chat and showed him quotes for typical central heating as well as cooling installations. I even showed him how we’d do a free ductwork cleaning for some of these options. He decided to go with 1 of those fair priced options. He didn’t care if there were other systems out there that were far more energy efficient, this new Heating & A/C they installed was efficient enough. At least, it was more efficient than his old HVAC unit and it would lead to significant savings in energy bills. I could tell that this guy just wanted to keep it simple, so I made sure that we gave him simple service and gave him what he wanted.
