Going to HVAC School Was Great Decision for My Student

Anyway, be that as it may, there were times when I would recommend to my students that they go learn a skill such as Heating and Cooling, HVAC, air conditioning, Plumbing, electricity, and so on.

I was a high school English teacher for almost 10 years. During that time period, it was considered absolutely wrong to encourage students to do anything other than go to college when they graduated from high school. Even though, as teachers, we knew that there were some students who just had no interest in going to college or simply were not “college material.”Even though I would get in trouble often times if I suggested to my students that they go to trade school and learn some kind of skill, I would do it anyway. I worked in a rural school district and just about every student of mine had a father who only had a high school education. Many of them were plumbers, electricians, and air conditioning repairman. I’m worried about 10 pumps and well Installers. Anyway, sometimes I would even lie when the parents would find out I recommended they learn Heating and Cooling or Plumbing or something. I would say I had no idea where they got that idea from, as my typical advice to all my students is always to go to college. Anyway, be that as it may, there were times when I would recommend to my students that they go learn a skill such as Heating and Cooling, HVAC, air conditioning, Plumbing, electricity, and so on. I had one particular student who was very happy that I said it was okay to learn a trade and there was no shame in it. He now owns 4 HVAC shops and every time I need anything that has to do with my air conditioning system, he sends someone over for free. That usually saves me at least a hundred bucks every time, and I appreciate him for it. I think he is very appreciative that I did not stand in his way of going to the trade school and learning the heating and cooling industry.
