He insisted he was an Heating & A/C professional.

Last week, I called the Heating & A/C company & asked for someone to come to the apartment & service my furnace.

  • I knew it was late in the season already, but the weather had been fairly calm & the temperatures had been mild.

However, I knew that this weather would not last much longer, so I needed to have my furnace ran tests on. I set up the appointment & waited for the Heating & A/C Tech to show up multiple afternoons later. When the service man pulled into the driveway, I noticed that the man inside was not 1 of my respected Heating & A/C professionals . When he got up onto the porch, the first thing I asked was if I could see his ID. He told myself and others he did not have an ID yet, which had been a bit concerning. I thought that every Heating & A/C professional would have an ID with his name, badge number, & the company written clearly on it. He did not even have so much as a picture ID of himself in the billfold. As much as he wanted myself and others to let them into the house, I refused. I called the Heating & A/C company & told them about the young man who was out on my porch. The receptionist who answered told myself and others they had not yet dispatched an Heating & A/C tech to my house. I asked then, who was this young man who was resting on my porch? She told myself and others he did not know who he was, but he would have another Heating & A/C professional at the apartment within the next 10 minutes. As soon as the other service van pulled up into the driveway, the young man took off running.
