When my husband and I went to a local Heating, Ventilation, and A/C business recently, we told them we were looking for a quality Heating, Ventilation, and A/C.
The HVAC servicemen told us about all kinds of expensive systems including ductless mini splits, central air conditioning, geothermal heating and cooling, and radiant heated floors.
It was too much for my husband and I, who have never thought beyond a standard furnace or window air conditioning unit. I had a lot of questions and was intrigued about some of the options the HVAC company offered. My husband, on the other hand, thought the whole thing was a giant headache. He didn’t want to spend time talking through the options and he asked the HVAC company to get straight to the point. He told him that we didn’t need anything expensive. We didn’t even need any new HVAC ductwork, though we likely would benefit from an HVAC duct sealing and cleaning. The guy we were speaking to seemed to understand my husband well enough, and showed us quotes for more fitting central heating and cooling installations. The HVAC specialist even showed us how they would do a free HVAC duct cleaning for some of these options, so we decided to go with 1 of those. We got a fair rate, as well. My husband didn’t care if there were other systems out there that were far more energy efficient, this new Heating, Ventilation, and A/C they installed was efficient enough… At least, it was more efficient than our seasoned units. After the installation, we began enjoying lower energy bills immediately. My husband loves to keep things as straight-forward as possible, so we are able to get what we need without dealing with the extra stuff. In this case, it worked out really well for our heating and cooling needs.
