For many years, my wife kept asking when we were going to go for a new HVAC. I just told her that whenever we couldn’t afford to fix it anymore, we would go for a new HVAC at that time. Well, the HVAC continued to work for a long time. It actually served us for 17 years before it was no longer feasible to repair the system. The HVAC professional actually said he was surprised because he thought that system would fail years ago, but our HVAC system kept trucking on! My wife was so happy when it died on us though because she wanted to have something much nicer for a long time. She actually had a good idea of what she wanted too. She wanted radiant heated floors and some cooling system that was highly energy efficient. So we ended up having a boiler system installed that was hooked up to the pipes for radiant heated floors. We also had an electric heat pump installed to cover our cooling needs in the summer season. Of course, it also works as a back up for heating if we ever have any issues with our heated floors. They always say it’s good to have multiple sources of heating, and that’s definitely true. This is why we also have a fireplace in our living room, and it’s a real wood burning fireplace. I’ve already spent countless hours resting in front of the fireplace and my whole family loves it too. But now, we all love these new radiant heated floors, that was a good call by my wife.
