I couldn’t see the logs beneath the snow.

Last winter, the two of us had a horrible snowstorm that left us without power for several mornings. Not only were my pipes at risk of chilly, but I concerned about my family. The two of us had a fireplace, and I hastily got it lit. I sent my kid out for some logs, but she said she couldn’t find them. I had them sitting outside by the tree, but when I looked out, the snow had all the wood hidden. I put on my boots and grabbed the snow shovel, intent on getting the logs out of the snow. My kid came out to help me, but I asked him if she could get the generator out of the garage and pull it out into the open.. While I got the logs uncovered, she worked at the generator. The two of us then switched sites. She took the logs onto the porch and I got the generator started. I just wanted enough power to run the well pump and keep the lights on. The two of us could use a space heating system in the basement to keep the pipes from chilly, but the fireplace was going to keep the main house warm. It didn’t take long before the snow melted off the logs and the two of us could keep the house warm.. My kid and I headed to the basement and set up more than one space heating systems to keep the pipes from chilly. The lights were out for more than one mornings, but our pipes were fine, and the fireplace kept the family comfortable. I was really grateful for all the help my kid offered to me. I couldn’t have done it without him.
