The space heater is keeping my truck running

I have a 20 year old truck and it requires tender loving care.

I take her to get an oil change every 3000 miles and I only put the best gas in her tank.

The seals in my oil cooler need to be changed and the repair will cost $1,500. I don’t have that kind of money right now, so I am doing my best to deal with the problem. It’s not a big deal until we have a couple of nights of cold temperatures. Last week the overnight low was 36 degrees. When I went out to start the truck, I noticed a large puddle of oil on the ground. The oil is due to the oil seals getting cold and shrinking. I found out that heat can keep this problem from occurring. I went to the Dollar Store and I bought a small space heater for 15 bucks. I wrapped two blankets around the front of my truck and I placed the small space heater under the engine. I let the space heater run all night long. In the morning, the temperature under the truck byu the oil cooler was about twenty degrees warmer than the rest of the outdoor air. I started up the truck and I only had a few drops of oil under the engine area. The space heater helped solve the problem. I can’t believe it worked so well. I’m going to use the blankets and the space heater every night until I can finally afford to fix the oil cooler problem once and for all.
