The big tip was a nice gesture from the manager

Most times when customers order a lot of pizzas, they call ahead.

  • We don’t need a lot of time to prepare, but it’s always easier to get the order done quickly when we have time to prepare.

A couple customers at the pizza shop have regular large orders. The daycare gets 12 pies every Friday at 1. One of the Catholic schools gets 50 pizza pies every Wednesday at noon. Last Friday, I took an order from a customer for 25 large pepperoni pizzas. The guy was the manager of an HVAC repair store. He wanted to buy lunch for all of the employees at the HVAC repair shop. When the customer told me that they wanted the order as soon as possible, I was worried that we wouldn’t be able to fulfill the order properly. Thankfully we had plenty of dough thawed out and ready to go. I told the person making the order that we would deliver the pies in an hour, and we were there on time with hot slices of pizza. The guy gave my delivery driver a fifty dollar tip. When the driver came back to the store, he bragged to everyone about the fifty dollar bill. The manager at the HVAC repair shop called me yesterday and thanked me for getting everything done on time in short notice. The guy placed another order for fifty pies this Friday and he told me that if it arrives on time, he will make the order a regular Friday occurrence until the end of the year.
